When you call to cancel they will offer to move your service (if available) and tack on the $99 install fee. I saw someone mention temporary fiber that is crush-able that is brought in through a window, we have no windows into the basement so would I need a long Ethernet cable then if the ONT is going to be temporarily upstairs? The install is about 10 days away (still need service for a camera at the apartment until everything is out) but want to be prepared for when they show up.ДЄs a side note to anyone in a similar situation. My question is what is that process like? Will they run the fiber to the outside and leave it to me to bring inside (which is fine, I don't need them accidentally drilling into the service panel next to the COAX entrance from outside). I went today to try and cancel the FiOS service at our apartment (which we have for another few weeks) and was told that a tech can come run the fiber to the house and drop off the ONT, they will then come back at a later date to clean up my self install of the ONT if needed. I plugged in the modem, activated it and Bob's your uncle. Comcast came out and hooked up the coax into the basement to the pole and that was that. As I am working from home that was a no go so I had to get Comcast (ugh). They could put in the order to move my service and I would be told when it can be installed in the future.

I talked with Verizon about three weeks ago before we moved and was told that they were doing no installs at all period.

We just moved to a new house that has FiOS available but the previous owners had Comcast (boo).
